Download TTMessenger - An all-in-one communication application designed to let you send an SMS, make phone calls or send faxes from the comfort of your desktop. Download eFax Messenger for Mac to view faxes from their online fax service.
One of these is eFax Messenger for Mac. While there’s not that much use for faxes in 2012, eFax is still a good solution for receiving the odd fax here and there, because you can get a fax number for free (you need to use this link to sign up for eFax Free, which is not otherwise findable from their home page). Fortunately, there’s still a way to see your fax. From the eFax web site, sign in to your account. You will see the fax in your inbox. Cilck on it, and you’ll be able to preview it. If you want to save it for posterity, or you need to see more detail, then click on the link to the right of “View Fax” (it will end in .efx). Click on 100%, and then control-click in the fax area itself and choose “Save Image As…” (or the equivalent command). Name it appropriately, and it will download as a .png file which can be opened in Preview or any other image viewer.
If you need to send the occasional fax as well, FaxZero makes a nice no-cost companion to eFax for OS X Lion.
